Sophie Timpers was born and raised in Lille, France.

Sophie is a Montessori trained educator, teaching French and “éveil musical” (music enrichment) in preschools and in parent & me settings throughout the Los Angeles area. Since 2005 Sophie has been offering her teachings which utilize her own French compositions in the classroom.

Sophie & Les Petits's music started in 2011 when Sophie teamed up with producer and award-winning world music artist Yuval Ron and they created her first album of original songs for little ones entitled "Bonjour." Sophie produced two more albums of dreamy French chansons for children since then.

Her songs are a playful and beautiful way to introduce French to the whole family. Sophie's delicate and sweet voice, accompanied by her young singers will invite any child to join in and try to speak French with her.

Sophie & Les Petits's albums offer a beautiful collection of original songs in French that will take you and your little ones around the world through jazzy tunes, Middle Eastern magic, dreamy lullabies, and French chansons.

Sophie developed Rhythmic Nation, an early childhood music appreciation program with a global awareness and mindful approach. This program aims to enrich children with a global vision of multiculturalism and to bring a sense of unity through music.
Sophie is also on the board of directors of Inspired Sound Initiative, a non-profit dedicated to teaching peace, unity and tolerance through the performing arts, by providing free of charge concerts and workshops to underserved communities and at-risk youth.

Sophie is the proud “maman” of two trilingual teens and resides in Los Angeles.
